Scholarships
Clear Creek Telephone & TeleVision continues its commitment to higher education by supporting local students with college scholarships. Annually, the board of directors reviews the scholarship fund and determines the number and amount of scholarship awards to be given the following year. Scholarship availability and application deadline is announced in the Fall on this web site and through the cooperative newsletter, Clear Lines. For 2009, four awards in the amount of $2,500 each are available.
To be eligible for a scholarship, a student must be a high school senior maintaining at least a "B" average and be a member (or immediate family member legally residing in the member's home) of Clear Creek Telephone & TeleVision. In addition, the student must be planning to attend a college or trade school certified by the Northwest Accreditation Association, another regional accreditation association, or the National Association of Trade and Technical schools. Applications are also available at our business office, local high schools, and Clackamas Community College beginning in December. The deadline for application is Friday, February 27, 2009. Foundation For Rural Service
The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) offers an annual college scholarship program to help further higher education among rural youth. In May of 2009, FRS will award $75,000 in the form of thirty, $2,500 scholarships to rural high school seniors across the United States. Awards are granted to students sponsored by a National Telecommunications Cooperative Association (NTCA) member company and, if chosen, are awarded $2,000 by FRS in addition to a $500 scholarship match by their sponsoring company. Applicants should bring the form to the business office at 18238 S Fischers Mill Road, Oregon City, OR NO LATER THAN Friday, February 20, 2009 to obtain the signature. The FRS deadline is March 1, 2009.
FRED - Foundation For Rural Education and Development
Each year, the Foundation for Rural Education and Development awards scholarships to rural America's best and brightest students. Scholarships range from $1,000 to $2,500. The Everette Kneece Return to Rural America Scholarship is awarded in the amount of $5,000 to the year's top applicant. Download the application form here: FRED Scholarship Application 2009.
