Clear Creek Communications is in the process of laying the foundation for a NEW underground fiber optic internet network.

This industry-leading, certified fiber optic technology will eventually provide all cooperative members with access to fast, reliable, and secure connections. Fiber will allow for speeds up to 2 Gigs (2,000 Mbps) so you can work, learn, stream, watch, or play with the best internet connection possible.

When do I get fiber?

Access to fiber will be coming in phases to the Clear Creek Communications membership. As a cooperative, we are conscious of our fiscal responsibility to each member and are pleased to relay that we received a federal funding award through the USDA ReConnect program to assist with the initial construction project.

We are committed to bringing fiber to every member in the coming years.

The 4 phases of the fiber project are shown in the map below. Click in the areas of the map to see the phases of the fiber projects. Click here to learn more about this project.

What can fiber do for me?

Fiber can transmit data faster than other technology, which allows for great available bandwidth that your devices can access. That means your household can have a virtually unlimited number of devices connected to your network at once to stream movies and shows, play games online, work from home, and more.

What is fiber?

Fiber diagram

Fiber optic cables are made of thin glass strands that transport data signals using beams of light. These signals travel incredibly fast, making fiber the most reliable and quickest form of internet data delivery technology.

With fiber, a modem is no longer required to connect your home to the internet. This provides a more seamless connection with one less piece of equipment in the home.

Fiber lines are buried underground inside of multiple layers of protective casing, further increasing connection reliability and reducing the possibility of damage from weather or accidents.

Clear Creek Communications' fiber network will provide individual, dedicated connections to each home in our service area. That means your internet is wired directly from your service address to our central office in Redland and not split between multiple homes or neighborhoods. This provides faster speeds and greater reliability, especially during peak usage times like evenings when online activity tends to be greater.
